A San Juan housing program has $1.2 million available for low to moderate income residents. | Morguefile
Funding for a home improvement program is being made available by San Juan County in the Home Fund program for 2020.
The Washington county has released a Notice of Funds Available for the funding round, which has $1.2 million available at the beginning of July, with responses accepted through Aug. 5, a county press release reported.
Eligible activities include acquisition, building, rehabilitation and maintenance of housing for every low and moderate-income people. It's also available for people with special needs. It can go toward rent or home ownership, according to the press release.
Organizations that are eligible for funding include nonprofits, housing authorities, private-for-profit developers with experience, owners or managers of affordable housing and public agencies.
This is the second year for San Juan County to offer the program. The awards will be announced in the late fall and digital information meetings will be available for interested parties in the Home Fund program.
