Those with a vested interest in the future of the marijuana industry in San Juan County will have an opportunity to voice there thoughts at a Planning Commission Public Hearing.
The focus of the meeting on July 17 will be production and development regulations, according to a press release from San Juan County. The commission will hear public comments, hold a discussion and develop recommendations for the county council’s consideration. The agenda lists both amending the existing ordinance and adding new sections.
Among the listed goals of the commission is to develop definitions for production and processing. Production and processing regulations will be listed for the land use tables of the code. Standards for environmental impacts along with determining how sites best fit within the community setting will also be explored, according to the county press release.
The meeting is listed to be held in the County Council Chambers, but there is a possibility it will take place via phone to comply with social distancing standards.
