Gov. Jay Inslee (D-WA) has appointed two Washington doctors who's expertise he believes is "the best of our state" to the COVID Vaccine Scientific Safety Review Workgroup.
Inslee announced the selection of Dr. Ed Marcuse and Dr. John Dunn to the collaborative workgroup with California, Oregon, and Nevada.
"I have no doubt that Dr. Marcuse and Dr. Dunn will be excellent additions to this workgroup and give Washingtonians confidence that any vaccine will be rigorously reviewed and ready for safe and reliable delivery," Inslee said in a release posted on the governor's website.
Dunn has experience in advising vaccine safety studies. He's also a member of the Health and Human Services National Vaccine Advisory Committee.
Marcuse has served on several vaccine advisory committees including the U.S. National Vaccine Advisory Committee, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Advisory Committee on Immunization Practice, and the Food and Drug Administration's Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee.
