4th Grade's Annual Gathering of First Nations

School10

As part of 4th Grade's Annual Gathering of First Nations, the class made  drums last week! Students, teacher Abigail Hundley and helper parents  were honored to be guided by Paul “Che Oke Tan” Wagner, Master of  Ceremonies for Potlatch, Potlatch History, Flute and Ceremony at The  First Nations Gathering here at WIWS since 2016. Paul Che’oke’ten Wagner  is an internationally performing presenter of traditional songs and  stories of his Coast Salish tribal ancestors. Che’oke’ten is a member of  the Wsaanich (Saanich) Tribe of southern Vancouver Island, British  Columbia. We look forward to Paul coming to us every year and hope that  he can continue into 2023. Thank you, Paul! Congratulations, 4th Grade -  your drums are so special.
