Congratulations to Mayor Pro Tempore Hizon who received four votes by City Council to be the next Mayor Pro Tempore for the City of Oak Harbor. The City Council heard
multiple comments from the public on the topic before discussing options and moving forward with a motion to identify a new Mayor Pro Tempore. After multiple motions and a
discussion of interest and experience, the City Council nominated Councilmember Hizon and Councilmember Woessner as the next Mayor Pro Tempore.
City Councilmembers Hizon, Stucky, Hoffmire, and Munns voted in support of Councilmember Hizon as Mayor Pro Tempore and Councilmembers Woessner and Evans voted in
favor of Councilmember Woessner as Mayor Pro Tempore. Councilmember Marshall abstained from the vote. Multiple City Councilmembers and the Mayor thanked
Councilmember Munns for her service as Mayor Pro Tempore.
Mayor Pro Tempore Hizon has been a resident of Oak Harbor since 1985 and is a graduate of Oak Harbor High School. She has served on City Council since 2012 and is certified
in Advanced Municipal Leadership. Mayor Pro Tempore Hizon is passionate about youth, the environment, and the arts.
