Learn about orchard cleanups at an upcoming open house!
The Washington Department of Ecology (Ecology) is working with the Washington State Association of Counties (WSAC) to develop tools to help local
government and developers implement cleanup on historical orchard lands where lead arsenate pesticides were used in the earlier part of the 19th
century up to the 1950’s to combat coddling moth infestations that threatened crops
WSAC and Ecology will host an in-person open house on Nov. 9 in Wenatchee so community members can learn more about legacy pesticides, health
impacts and the orchard cleanup process.
